Food Haul | January 2018

I think I'm becoming more and more of a foodie. I keep on craving and searching for different foods. I want to try out and taste stuff that are new or unfamiliar. With that said, here's a haul of foods that I've been enjoying lately. I've been munching on them for days now. Let me share my thoughts as we go through each of them.

Dried Strawberries
I love strawberries. Due to that reason, I was so excited to try this out. I actually like the taste. It reminds me of raisins but better... or maybe I'm just being bias. If you've tried Mountain Maid's Sesame Strawberry Candy, the taste and texture is pretty similar to that.

Roasted Almonds (Salted)
Even though salted, these roasted almonds are not that salty. Actually, I do get the sweet notes more. They are so yummy and the texture is just right. It's nowhere near hard. I don't exactly know how to describe it, but I would go for soft and chewy with the right amount of crunch.

Roasted Walnuts (Salted)
The same thing goes for the texture of these salted walnuts but with added crunch, maybe. The taste is a bit saltier and nuttier compared to the almonds. It is very enjoyable.

Cacao Nibs (Sweetened)
I never thought raw chocolates could taste this good. I'm not a big fan of dark chocolates, but I think I'm now a lover of cacao nibs. They taste great! They have the right amount of bitterness and sweetness. There are also the fruity and nutty notes. They seriously taste incredible. They are also super munchy.

Cacao Nibs (Sweetened)
Here's another pack of cacao nibs. This pack is sweeter than the one above. It is also softer and chewier. I do enjoy it, too, but I prefer the other one. I think the taste of this pack of nibs has less dimension, depth and intricateness. Do you know what I mean?

I haven't tried the next three items yet, so I can't comment much about them.

Sultana Raisins

Dried Cranberries

Maca Root Powder

Kapeng Barako from Mount Banahaw
This coffee smells so good. It is also so smooth and silky. There's something different about it that I just can't pinpoint. There's something about it that makes me think that it is closer to teas rather than instant coffees. It seems softer and lighter than instant coffees. That's not based on caffeine strength or effect, but the vibe. Ugh. I just can't explain it. I find it a bit weird, but in a good way.

Hawflakes
The taste makes me think of raisins. If you're not aware of Hawflakes, they are from China. They are made from the fruits/berries of Chinese Hawthorn.

Cow Label Ready to Eat Preserved Beef
This stuff is real and beefy. It is good tasting, but it makes me feel bad in some ways so I don't find it that enjoyable. Maybe, it's time for me to take eating healthy and organic more seriously.

If you're wondering, I got all of these stuff through Shopee. This is not sponsored. I just enjoy that site so much at the moment. If you're interested in any of these, just look them up there. You can also comment below and ask me if you need the exact sellers. That's all for this post.
