My Sweet Reads For The Month Of June

Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light. –Vera Nazarian

Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book. –Author Unknown

Long before, books were the only apple of my eye. Not that they are no longer the apple of my eye, they still are, but now, obviously, together with a lot of other stuff. Still, they will always be my first love. They will always be a huge part of me.

I always love how they make me see and understand the world. I am always enchanted by how they bring me to different places, how they teach me a lot of things, how they introduce me to a lot of different types of people, and how they let me experience a lot of amazing things. Books truly enrich my mind, heart and soul. I can actually say that the quotes above speak nothing but mere truth.

These past couple of months, I’ve been so occupied that I wasn’t able to finish even one book. Yes, lovelies, even just one book. What on earth was I doing these past months that I hadn’t even finished a book? I don’t even know. Aaaaaah. I hate that fact. :/ So, I decided to make it up with my loves and made a new goal.  What goal? To finish reading and understanding all these four books before the month of June ends.

I’ve had these books for half a year now. I haven’t removed their price sticker, (because I don’t want those stickers to leave some sticky residue or worse damage the books) so I still know their price and where I got them. (:

I just started and this is what I am currently reading. I was looking for this book for ages and so grateful when I’ve found it. After I’ve read the first book of Heather Wells Mystery which is Size 12 Is Not Fat, I knew that I had to have the next book which is this baby. The first one was a very good read that it was really hard for me to put it down whenever I had to. It made me so excited for this book. I’m actually more than half way through it now. This book, btw, is written by Meg Cabot who is known for her novel series The Princess Diaries. (I’m sure a lot of you have read or watched The Princess Diaries. ;)) She is a good writer, no wonder she is New York Time’s bestselling author.

Judging by the title, you may think that this book is fashion or beauty related, but don’t be fooled. It is actually a suspense, thriller type of novel where there are mysteries, killings, tough investigation, etc. The story revolves around a former pop star Heather Wells turned assistant dorm director who’s given opportunities to play detective. So far, the story is fun, crazy, exciting and such a heart stopper.

Some of us work awfully hard to be happy, some go miles looking for happiness while some buy everything wanting to be happy, but me, I have Happiness Now, with where I am, what I have and what I’m doing. We don’t have to delay happiness. It is all in the mind. We could have it now if we really want to and if we just open our hearts and minds. Thanks to all the positive, inspiring people around me and inspirational, self-help books that taught me a lot. Hopefully this book will help me maintain it, handle it properly and share it to others.

I am not the most sociable person in the world. Maybe here in my wonder world I am, but not exactly outside of this wonderful place. I am someone who you can actually call an introvert. I still have a few friends though and I should say I’m the luckiest because they are the best and the truest and I also have my wonderful family. That being said, I want to know/understand more a thing or two about how to get along with people, how to keep the ones that you have, how to befriend someone and especially, how to handle positively the not so nice ones and contain your cool, because let’s face it, it could be tough at times.  xD

At the back it says, “Readers with a romantic bent will be drawn to this book”, so I clearly do not understand why I have this one. It’s not like I’m one of those people. Psssh. Romantic stories, those are so overrated. Who reads book like this? Only kids do. Right?

Of course not. I was just bluffing. I still read love stories. I still find them beautiful and magical regardless of all love misfortunes and heart breaks around the world. I believe it is still a wonderful thing. Anyways, this is not your ordinary love story. Other than love it also deals with the concept of reincarnation. It tells the story of a man and a woman through time, from pre historic era to the present day. Even though circumstances fight them, a greater force still continues to reunite them again and again and this book will prove that some people are meant for each other – no matter how long it takes.

I’m so excited to read each book. I really hope that I’ll be able to accomplish my goal. Whatever happens, I’ll make sure to update you lovelies next time. xoxo
