Let's check out the latest from Quaker!
I got these Quaker Good Start Oat Dairy Drinks at Puregold for 28 Php each. Each bottle contains 280 mL.
They only come in four flavors: Vanilla Malt, Banana Creme, Chocolate Hazelnut and Mocha Chocolate. I do have them all here.
They are actually not what I expected them to be. I thought they're just like the usual cereal drinks. However, they are actually leaning more on the drink side and much less on the cereal.
They all have a thin, milky, smooth consistency. They don't contain regular oats or cereals. On the other hand, they have powdered oats, or at least that's what they seem to be. Shaking the drinks won't take them away. They are so fine that they are almost unnoticeable at times. They just add a tiny bit of texture to the smoothness of the drinks.
They all have similar packaging, but in different colors. The caps are tightly sealed.
The information about the importer, distributor and the likes are located at the side of each bottle.
The expiration dates are on the caps. I think the placement is great and it makes things easier for the consumers.
Vanilla Malt and Banana Creme have the same lists of ingredients, but they are a little different when it comes to nutritional information.
The same thing goes for Chocolate Hazelnut and Mocha Chocolate.
Vanilla Malt smells like ice cream cone to me. It also tastes like ice cream cone, but with a little bit of vanilla ice cream.
Banana Creme has the delicious scent of sweet banana milkshake or banana split ice cream. However, its initial taste is borderline medicinal, before it turns into a regular yet creamy banana taste.
Mocha Chocolate smells like a regular chocolate milk drink. It even tastes so much like Chuckie, but with a mocha aftertaste. It is very milky and chocolate-y, while the coffee touch is so subtle.
Lastly, we have Chocolate Hazelnut. This one smells and tastes like brownies.
All in all, they taste fine. However, I don't find any of them special or addicting. I think I prefer the usual cereal drinks, especially since these oat drinks are not filling. I don't think they are enough for a really good start. They're better as an addition to your snacks or meals. ;)
