Are you familiar with sleep paralysis? It's when you wake up in the middle of the night unable to move your whole body or even speak. A person's natural reaction is to get anxious, try to shout and force herself to move her whole body, but to no avail. The actual trick to it is to remain calm, breathe, focus on your toes and try to move one. As a person succeeds in doing so, she will then slowly, one by one, part by part, be able to move her body and overcome that paralysis.
Another case, a person who suffered from an accident or stroke goes on medication and therapy. She'll have to move as much or as little as she can. Only after this therapy will she get better. After some time and a lot of practice, she'll then bounce back better than ever. Maybe not necessarily physically, but mentally and spiritually for how great it is to go through, survive and recover from such thing.
Fears can both cripple and paralyze our mind, body and spirit. They can damage our whole being if we allow them. As they say, "what you give power to, has power over you". We better run! But instead of running away from them, we better run towards them. Let's not give away our power. Let's show them who's the real boss. Let's face them! It may not be easy, especially the first step, but it's going to be worth it. Fears are indication that we are on the right path. Everything we ever want is on the other side of these fears. We can do it!
