Durian + coffee? Hm. Pretty interesting!
This is a product by the well-known brand Lola Abon's and is manufactured by their own incorporated company in Davao City, Phillipines. Their contails details and complete address are included on the packaging.
The product is BFAD registered.
A pack contains 12 individually wrapped pieces. Each piece is actually wrapped thrice. There's the outer plastic wrapper, a gold paper one and another translucent plastic inside.
The color of this yema reminds me of brown coffee.
It has an incredibly soft, pretty smushy texture. I'm not actually a big fan of it. I would prefer if it has a little bit more firmness and denseness.
The scent brings a vivid image of a sweet and milky white coffee. It also makes me think of custard cake with sweet, rich, creamy custard on top and a soft spongy cake below.
There's a rich coffee taste on top of the flavor of durian.
The taste of coffee is defintiely stronger and more prevalent than that of the the durian which is subtler.
It does leave a bit of an aftertaste.
It doesn't taste bad at all. It's actually a fine one but it's definitely not one of my favorites among all the products of Lola Abon's. They do have better tasting ones. Those that are more addicting.
Though, I greatly appreciate the creativity and the guts to come up and pursue such a unique pairing or product in general.
Until next time!
