Munching all the way!
I found this last week at Robinson's Supermarket.
A 100 g pack is worth 199 Php. I honestly find it a bit pricey. I picked it up not knowing its actual price, I only found out later after checking the receipt. I thought it would only cost around 150 Php or even less. :P
Anyway, the one that I have here is Chili flavored. It also comes in other flavors such as Garlic and Original.
I think the company has a knack for making the consumers feel good about buying and eating their product. You'll surely eat without guilt. After reading their words, you'll eat with satisfaction and pride instead. They are pretty clever and admiring.
This is a product of the Philippines. It is manufactured by Food For Thought Live Well Together Corp. It's a very interesting company, I must say. They have tons of good causes. I think they are awesome and nice to support. I'm hoping a more successful future for the company and the people. ;)
See the photo above for other details such as distributor, FDA LTO No. and expiration date.
For nutritional information, click and enlarge this one ^. The ingredients are also listed here. I really like that the list is short and composed of simple and familiar names. There's no preservatives nor any food coloring. They really are committed to being all natural.
The packaging is made up of good quality thick foil and is resealable.
Let's now talk about the real deal: the chips and the taste.
The chips were thick and crunchy. The texture was pretty consistent and the crunchiness was just right and perfect. There's no hard bits. It's not hard to munch even for those who are wearing braces.
On the other hand, the taste was not exactly inconsistent, but more like weird and unique. Honestly, it started out a bit bland for my liking, but it got tastier and tastier as I munched on them. They had the familiar taste of salted mushroom chips. It also didn't exactly have a chili taste or chiliness, it was more like a hot feeling as sort of an aftertaste. Am I even making sense to you? Hahaha
Anyway, I hope this post piqued your interest about this product. It was really nice to munch on. This was not my first mushroom chips and even though it's not the best tasting, I think it's the most memorable since it's weird and like no other. I'm glad I gave it a try and I'm actually looking forward to experience the other flavors.
