ETUDE HOUSE DEAR DARLING WATER GEL TINT in RD303

This review is mostly based on my sister's thoughts and experiences. I personally applied this lip tint on her lips only once, so my experience with this product is quite limited.

This water gel tint is by the well-known brand Etude House and it is part of their long-standing Dear Darling line or collection. It is made in Korea.

I already featured this product on my last Mini Korean Cosmetics Haul. I got this full sized tube of Etude House Dear Darling Tint from RRKorean Shop. They do have Shopee, Instagram and FB pages.

The design of the tube is pretty usual, simple and minimalistic. It's just a clear tube with a colored top and a slanted doe foot applicator inside. The color of the top doesn't reflect the color of the tint, but you could distinguish the latter better since again it has a clear body or tube.

The details on the tube are only those that are extremely short and necessary such as the brand, product, specific color, batch number and expiry date. You have to search the net if you're looking for the product description and ingredients.

This product has that usual sweet, fruity, lip tint scent, but it doesn't taste that nice.

RD303 or Red Chilly is a warm tone red color. It is a slightly bright and happy red. I like that it's not that dark, serious and heavy. This color makes the skin look glowing and the wearer, more striking. I also like that it is very buildable, you can apply it lightly and maybe just on the middle for that subtle look or build the color up to the maximum for a bit of a punch.

The consistency is true to its name. It has a water gel texture that is light and smooth. Though, it's definitely not as light as the water tint from the same line and brand. That one feels like almost nothing on the lips.

Anyway, what I don't like about this tint is that we find it a bit hard to apply. It doesn't go on evenly and it tends to cling on the dry patches. Even with freshly scrubbed lips, it has the tendency to accumulate on certain areas, like on the innerpart of the lower lip, and disappear on others, like on the middle of the upper lip.

Another thing that hasn't amazed my sister is the longevity. Sometimes, it stays put until you eat a meal; other times, it disappears even before you eat or drink anything.

It's moody and inconsistent on its own. I watched a review of almost the entire collection of the water gel tints and they are inconsistent as a group, too. Some perform better than the others. Some are hits, while the others are misses. It requires trial and error.

This tint is a letdown. We want something better, more consistent and more convenient. After all, that's why we go for tints, for comfort, ease and convenience.

Until next time!
